Rapper YNC Capo lit Memphis on fire last summer with his catchy track “Feeling Like Kevo” who’s video has amassed nearly six million views since its release and rerelease on Worldstar.

After the explosion of “Feeling Like Kevo”, Capo got to work and dropped his project “While I’m Here” back in February.

For weeks after the album’s release, Capo’s Instagram story was flooded with hundreds of people blasting various tracks including the fan favorites “Life So Sweet” and “Intro”.

His newest track “Dumpin Out The Sunroof” pairs his bubbly yet rapid flow with an infectious, bass-heavy beat to create a catchy, surefire hit. Check the track out on Youtube now!

Oz Sparx

Since lighting the streets of Philly on fire with his track “Can’t Change” with Zahsosaa, Olney native Oz Sparx has re-ignited his buzz with tracks like “Fake”, “Antisocial” and “Hindi”.

Since signing to 510 Music group, an imprint of EMPIRE records, the 19-year-old rapper has had songs placed on Worldstar periodically, collaborated with Florida’s J Green and YNW Melly, and been featured on media outlets like Elevator Magazine, Lyrical Lemonade, and BLVCK DETOX’s “Live Performance” series.

His ability to perform lyrically as well as energetically makes him the clear choice for DSM’s Artist of The Week

Yung Liv

Last January, West Philadelphia native Yung Liv dropped his first video “Never Helped Out”, which currently sits at 53k views on Youtube.

Throughout the next nine months, he’d drop three videos that had similar numbers but nothing particularly eye-catching. However, Liv would drop a track alongside YH56ST that would blow up out of nowhere.

“Dead Oppz”, a song he didn’t even like at first, has since hit nearly two-and-a-half million views on Youtube and earned him a spot on Chicago rapper Polo G’s label “Capalot Records”.

The 19-year-old has made appearances in Elevator Magazine, Say Cheese TV, and Hoodlife Ent and his music continues to rake in views as his name begins to catch mainstream attention.

Yak Yola

In the span of just one year, West Philadelphia native Yak Yola has become one of the most promising talents in the city. His track “Demon Flow” hovers around 300k views on Youtube while his tracks “Blow”, “All In”, “Take Off”, and “Go Getta” range between 120 and 220 thousand views on the same platform.

Yola has been cosigned by Meek Mill and comedian/social influencer Gille Da King and made music with New York up and comers Sheff G and Sleepy Hollow.

Outside of music, he’s partnered with fashion brand Face Your Fears which has exploded in the past year becoming a staple of Philadelphia streetwear. The rapper rocks a custom iced out chain that dawns their signature FYF logo.

Alamo Records recognized all of this potential and signed the young artist a couple months ago. After months of anticipation, Yak Yola dropped his mixtape “Misunderstood” on Wednesday.

Lil Zack

Philadelphia rapper Lil Zack has put out a string of visuals with director Marlissa Monay that have gained serious traction in the Philly underground scene.

Zack’s local notoriety began with his track “Stand Down”, a high-energy anthem that would rack up nearly 500,000 views on Youtube in less than a year.

The young rapper followed this hit up with songs like “Dear Mama” with fellow emerging artist Mir220 and “No Safety” and their accompanying videos.

The two songs combined have nearly 300,000 Youtube views and feature the same melodic, paper-stacking enthusiasm as “Stand Down”.

Northeast Philadelphia rapper 2Raree is diversifying Philly’s often grim and gritty sound with a much more bubbly and fun aesthetic.

The teenager is getting serious traction with tracks like “Big Drippa” and “No Brotherly Love”, which have around 500k views on Youtube and “Big Bag” which has one million views on Youtube and over two million on Soundcloud.

However, upon searching for “Big Bag” I noticed that it was missing from both Soundcloud and Spotify. Maybe he will re-release?

2Raree has been featured on Philadelphia’s rap radio station Power 98.9 as well as getting nods from media outlets like Medium.com and Elevator Magazine.

He’s even gotten some attention from record labels like Alamo Records

0-4

Throughout the last year, rap duo 0-4, comprised of West Philadelphia rappers Lil Bucks and 1Mere, has set the city ablaze with tracks like “We Spinnin”, “We Spinnin 2” and “Come Outside”.

The teenagers’ shockingly gruesome lyrics and grungy, rapid-fire deliveries have intoxicated the streets of Philadelphia. Despite their young ages, the two have both had their bouts with legal trouble. In fact, Bucks was released from juvenile detention in late January.

Since his release, 0-4 has dropped two tracks, including “All-Stars” with fellow rap group NR3. The track has over 80,000 views on Youtube in just three weeks.

The two have also collaborated with rising artists like Columbia Records signee SimXSantana, 100Deek, G19, and director Marlissa Monay, to name a few.

Born Troy Norton, Atlanta native T$AN has been making waves in the Philadelphia rap scene with tracks like “Come Home” and “Japanese Denim”.

The 18-year-old rapper’s autotuned, choppy delivery that often drifts on and off the beat draws comparison to fellow Atlanta native Playboi Carti, while still maintaining originality.

The young rapper has performed and collaborated with fellow local talents including Jah$star, Rich Rick, Eli616 and Lil Uzi Vert.
